Winter is a great time to visit Disney World.
Once Winter rolls around, Florida’s dreaded hurricane season has passed and the chance of a blizzard in central Florida is 1 in a bajillion.
Disney World is also less crowded in the Winter compared to other seasons, with the exception of the week between Christmas and the New Year.
The weather can still be funky, as in hot some days and cool the next, which makes packing extra tricky (and bulky).
Here are some ideas on what to pack for Disney World in the Winter.

Disney World goes all out for the winter holidays.
All of the parks are decorated to the max and characters don their best Christmas sweaters and holiday outfits.
There’s even a holiday party at the Magic Kingdom on select nights.
Be sure to pack your favorite ugly Christmas sweater, Winter-themed clothing, and anything sparkly!
It’s sunny in Florida year round, so be sure to pack your sunglasses.
If you run cold or the weather calls for extra-cold temps at night, definitely pack warm accessories, such as a knit hat, gloves, or scarf.
Coats + Outerwear
Although it is Florida, it can get cold at night during the Winter season.
There are some instances of cold temps during the day too, so don’t forget to pack a warm coat.
A puffer vest, fleece or light puffer bomber jacket will offer enough warmth. Plus, they are easy to pack.
I suggest packing long sleeve tops, sweaters, and sweatshirts in the Winter.
If you run warm, I recommend layering a light layer under a warmer layer.
Packing a variety of layers is my top tip for what to pack for Disney World in the Winter.
Think short and long sleeve tees, plus flannels, sweaters, or sweatshirts to go on top.
You’re probably not going to be able to wear shorts, but if the weather calls for 65° F or higher, maybe throw in a pair.
You’re better off sticking to comfy pants, such as leggings or jeans.
I love the idea of packing something extra fun in the Winter, like faux leather leggings or embroidered jeans!
I always recommend packing more than 1 pair of shoes, no matter where you’re traveling to, just in case 1 pair gets wet and needs a day or 2 to dry.
For Disney World, leave the heels at home. Pack comfortable shoes that you can walk all day in, such as sneakers.
In the Winter, stick to sneakers made of a warmer material, such as leather or a man-made upper, or short, flat heel boots.
Disney World Park Bag
A good park bag is always necessary for a trip to Disney World so that you can lug around the necessities and all your souvenirs.
A good park bag is necessary year round, but the cooler weather (read: more gear) might mean you’ll want a bigger bag, such as a full size backpack, than in the Summer.
